Fortress / Ravens Closure Order 05-86

On January 25, 2008, Josh Taiz, the district wildlife biologist of the Santa Catalina Ranger District photocopied the closure order for the Fortress and Ravens Rock for me (see below). This closure is in effect for 2008. The net of the closure order is that:

The Fortress and Ravens are closed to climbing from March 15th through June 30th.
The Fortress and Ravens are considered a biologically sensitive area and is closed for the purpose of protecting Peregrine Falcon habitat.
The penalty for climbing on either the Fortress or Ravens during the closure is at most $500 or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.

Note that this closure order has been in effect since May 26th, 1992.
