Panarama Wall Closure Order 05-116
On January 25, 2008, Josh Taiz, the district wildlife biologist of the Santa Catalina
Ranger District photocopied the closure order for Panarama Wall for me (see below).
This closure is in effect for 2008.
The net of the closure order is that:
- Panarama Wall is closed to climbing from March 15th through June 30th.
- Only part of Panarama Wall is closed (see topo below). The following routes are closed:
- Locomotor Crack
- Panacea
- Three Boschkateers
- Bean Phobia
- Second Hand Crack
- Prow Beater
- Traumarama
- Panarama Wall is considered a biologically sensitive area and is closed for the purpose of protecting Peregrine Falcon habitat.
- The penalty for climbing on Panarama Wall during the closure is at most $500 or imprisonment for
not more than six months, or both.
Note that this closure order has been in effect since April 4th, 1995.
