Wheeler Wall Closure Order 05-115

On January 25, 2008, Josh Taiz, the district wildlife biologist of the Santa Catalina Ranger District photocopied the closure order for Wheeler Wall for me (see below). This closure is in effect for 2008. The net of the closure order is that:

Wheeler Wall is closed to climbing from March 15th through June 30th.
Wheeler Wall is considered a biologically sensitive area and is closed for the purpose of protecting Peregrine Falcon habitat.
The penalty for climbing on Wheeler Wall during the closure is at most $500 or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.

Note that this closure order has been in effect since April 4th, 1995.
